Our Rules
Read these rules. Ignorance of them will not be accepted as an excuse. Breaking the rules may result in the temporary loss of your player object or permanent banning from the game. If you don't agree with the rules, then don't play here. If you break the rules anyway, don't say we didn't warn you.
- If you have been told by an administrator not to do something related to the game, don't do it. If you have been told by an admin to do something related to the game, do it.
- Do not abuse resources
Ansible is using donated bandwidth and has limited hard drive space, CPU power, and RAM. The list of forbidden activities includes, but is not limited to: creation of OOC objects or verbs; spamming the server; any sort of denial-of-service attack; automatically reconnecting; automatically unidling after a certain time; any triggers of any sort. - One per customer
You are allowed to create one (and only one) character without explicit permission from the admin. If you feel that you must have a second character (an "alt"), send a mail (on-game) to *requests explaining your reasoning. Similarly, you may not connect using someone else's character -- even with that player's permission -- without first talking to the administration. - Harassment: Don't
Do not harass other players. If they ask you not to bother them, stop immediately. If you suspect that they have an alt, do not pester them for information about that alt. - Other People's Stuff
Do not take or modify objects that do not belong to you. - Content Restrictions
Any conversation that takes place in a public room, or on any channel, is to be kept at a PG level. Any conversation that takes place in a private room is to be kept at a PG-13 level. - Public Areas
Any interaction that takes place in a public, IC room is to be kept In Character and In Genre. Any roleplay scene, event, or plot that is deemed out of genre may be "retconned", or declared to never have happened. All RP must abide by the content restrictions in rule #5. - Asking for help
Please try to solve problems yourself before asking for help. If you find yourself in need of more assistance than the help files can supply, ask on the [HELP] channel on-game, page a connected mentor (use the commandwho *mentorsfor a list), or send an e-mail towizards(at symbol)ansiblemoo.org. When you ask for help, do so politely. - Coded Battles
During battles, the use of triggers, timers, or any means of spamming an opponent is considered cheating. Macros and aliases may be used. If you aren't sure, don't do it. - Use as intended
Do not use Ansible as a resource to get help with, talk about, or advertise other games. Also note that Ansible is a roleplaying game for fans of Ender's Game - it is not a chat room. - Requests for wizardly or administrative powers will not be considered. If you have to ask, we either do not know you well enough or there are no positions open. Your best chances for getting these positions are by proving your abilities, contributing to the MOO, and by not being annoying.
- Requests for programmer bits must follow the guidelines set forth in help programmer-policy.
- Requests for command must follow the guidelines set forth in help cc-request.
