ANSIBLE

AnsibleMOO IC Staff

IC Staff (In Character Staff) is the teachers and staff members that work within the student portion of the Battle School Station. All of the teachers and staff are trained military personnel, and have had at least six years of military training. The youngest characters may be twenty-two years of age, while the oldest may be closer to sixty. Ranks are given on performance and may not run parallel with age. Like students, staffers may be pulled from all areas of the international fleet, but they are chosen for their knowledge in their particular areas. Some may be former Battle School students, while others may be recruits from other branches of the military.

IC Staff Expectations

The following is a list of rules and expectations that each IC Staff member is to follow. Failure to abide by the rules/expectations may result in the loss of one's character.
  1. Plot Approval : If you are not a RP Staffer as well as an IC Staffer, you must run all major plots past a RP Staffer before performing them. Why? Because RP Staffers know what is allowed and not allowed to take place.
  2. Fraternization : Please be aware that there are strict rules against fraternization. Staffers who have IC relationships with other staffers are to keep them to the Staffer portion of the station. They are not to form relationships above a teacher/student level with any student at Battle School, on grounds of expulsion from the program.
  3. Classified Information : Regarding the Ansible: All of your characters know that they are under strict orders not to reveal anything about faster than light communication, especially to students. This is highly classified information that is not to be even discussed. If your character has no reason to know about the ansible, then they do not know about it. As with most military information it is given on a 'need to know' basis. If your character does not 'need to know' then you would not know. This is a good way to keep your character out of trouble. The same with any other classified information. While you might know it OOC, remember that these people are just military personnel and they have only the information they need to do their jobs.
  4. Activity : You are expected to teach one IC Class a month (if you have an assigned subject matter). If you do not have an assigned subject matter, then you are required to participate in at least one or two interviews or other IC situations a month. Basically just get out and play your staffer.
  5. Act the part : Your characters are military personnel, and are expected to act like it. While sympathy and compassion are not outlawed, remember that your characters are here because it's their job. They have all been trained to respect and accept a military way of life. If you have questions about what would be expected out of a military officer, please direct it towards the head of IC Staff.
