Telnet to ansiblemoo.org, port 6000
To connect to AnsibleMoo, you need either a telnet program or a mud/moo client. Many computers already have these installed. Try clicking on the link above. If you already have a telnet program installed, a new window will pop up and you'll be connected to the MOO. If not, see our the section on Telnet programs and Moo clients on our links page.
Please note: The telnet program that comes with Windows has a number of drawbacks. Even if it is installed, you may want to consider downloading either a new telnet program or one of the clients mentioned below. For just looking around, it'll work fine. However, please take a look at the section below on common telnet problems.
connect guest : Once your client program has connected to the server, type this to take a look around.
@request : If you'd like to make your own character, use this command while logged in as a guest.

Common Problems
Telnet - Local Echo : The two most common problems with Telnet programs is not seeing what you're typing and not being able to erase. To fix the first (in Windows telnet), go to the Terminal menu, choose Preferences, and check the box next to Local Echo. In other clients you still need to turn Local Echo on, but the location for this may be different. If you can't find it, look in the help for Local Echo.
Telnet - Backspace : When using telnet, your backspace key may not work correctly (Often it
will result in "^H" or "^?" appearing on the screen). If this
is the case, you'll need to experiment with the backspace and delete
settings to see what works. Try searching the help for "backspace" or
"delete" for information on how to change these settings.
If you are using UNIX, read "man stty" or ask your system
administrator for help with this problem.
Blacklisted Sites : If you either get a message which says something like "This site has been banned due to continued abuse" or "guest characters are not allowed from your site", and you haven't been kicked off of Ansible in the past, you will need to email wizards@ansiblemoo.org in order to gain access. We apologize for the inconvenience, but some people feel the need to convince us of their immaturity, and this is about the only thing we can do about it.
Deleted Characters : Characters on Ansible may be deleted after a period of extended inactivity.
So if you have not connected in a while and you find you can no longer log
on, you may need to create a new character.
If you previously had another character on Ansible which was deleted, and
the registration process tells you that you appear to already have a
character on Ansible, email wizards@ansiblemoo.org and tell us your
preferred email address, and a name, description and gender for your
character. We'll create the character for you.
